Gospel reflection for the week (May 12-18): Luke 24:46-53
“They did him homage and then returned to Jerusalem with great joy, and they were continually in the temple praising God.”

Everything happens for a reason.

There is a reason why we met each other, why we journey together in our Bible adventure and why we are the only ones left to pursue the YE FSW.

After the stressful and challenging preparations; and after all the sleepless nights during the training, God’s message to us was made clearer when we attended the Sunday Mass. Right there and then, He reminded us of our mission right after our training. That us, being the witness of His love perfected in His death, resurrection and ascension, should be able to share this message to our fellow youth.

We may not change the world but in God’s grace, we can change one soul at a time.

As our journey continue, may we always be reminded of our experiences, bond and love that transpire from our 4 days training. May in everything that we do, God may be glorified.

August 2011, is a very blessed month for me. Aside from fulfilling my dream of attending the World Youth Day and see the Pope face to face, I am very blessed to have visited the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Fatima in Lisbon, Portugal. Calmness, peace, hopefulness and love fills my heart everytime I would go back to that moment in my life. My devotion to the Lady became more stronger because of that divine experience I had in visiting that holy place.

Being used by God is the most functional you can be as a human being. Allow Him to enter, consume and use you and experience an overflowing joy you can’t explain and contain. MARRIAGE made in HEAVEN.

A favorite priest of mine once said in his homily that one should aspire for a MARRIAGE made in HEAVEN and not a marriage made on earth.

A marriage made in heaven is something that you prayed for. A marriage binded by a true and unconditional love, witnessed and blessed by God thru the sanctity of marriage and is one with God’s plan of procreation.

Marriage made on earth on the other hand is something that came out unplanned. It is something made out of necessity. Maybe it is because of unplanned pregnancy, social pressure and age-related issues. Marriage made out of mere necessity is bound to fail because it is not a fruit of prayer.

Marriage is a beautiful creation of God. Do not hurry and make a haste decision. Pray for His guidance and let His will thy be done.

Don’t fall in love in the idea of love.

Don’t just fall inlove based on the thought and general theme love. Don’t fall in the Happy Ever After Theme that is all giddy, happy, excited and smooth because love is more than all of that.

When you enter a relationship because you fall in love, be sure that you know what you’re entering into. You should bear in mind that you want to enter a relationship because your end goal is marriage and when this is in your mind, you should be aware that falling inlove is beyond those giddy stuff - that love can also be dissapointing, that there’ll be problems, that your partner is not perfect and that you two are different people.

Don’t just fall inlove because you’re excited.

Don’t just fall inlove because you want to escape something and just move on without really contemplating things and life.

Don’t just fall inlove because you wanted to be in the same circle as your friends who are happily in a relationship, married or has their own kids already.

Don’t just fall inlove because you want someone to accompany you, someone you could talk to, someone who will fulfill your fantasies.

Don’t just fall inlove because you don’t want to be alone.

Don’t just fall inlove because you know you can easily get someone with your kind words and promises.

Don’t just fall inlove with anyone who is readily available for you.

FALL IN LOVE because you know you can’t live without that person.

FALL IN LOVE because you wanted to marry that person.

FALL IN LOVE because you know that whatever might happen, you know you are ready to accept that person, both the good and bad, from the ups and downs.
